While
on rotation, students will participate in Interdisciplinary Sessions,
community service projects, and research activities complementary
to the clinical portion of their learning experience.
Interdisciplinary
Sessions (IDS) are held on Friday at 12:30, in the Learning Center.
This is a time when students and professionals gather to discuss
a wide range of health-related topics and provide feedback from
their respective disciplines. Students of all disciplines are
encouraged to participate in creating a cooperative, problem-based
learning experience.
Research
activities are a means of bringing students closer to the rural
community they serve. While on site, students may participate
in an in-house study, or create one of their own to learn more
about the health concerns of the local community.
