In Gassaway, MHC maintains a four bedroom house for students rotating
in Braxton & Clay counties. The house is located approximately
3 miles from BCMH and 45 minutes from Clay Primary Care Center.
The house offers a formal living room, den, eat-in kitchen, and
3 baths. The house is equipped with twin beds, dishes, cookware,
utensils, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, cable TV and
telephone. Students must provide bed linens and towels, and calling
card for long-distance dialing. Smoking and pets are PROHIBITED
Learning
Resource Center
Braxton County Memorial Hospital's Learning Resource Center (LRC)
is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Arrangements
can be made with the site coordinator for after hours use. The
LRC includes a computer lab, study room, meeting rooms, and offices.
The computer stations in the computer lab are equipped with Windows,
word processing and spreadsheet packages, and access to RuralNet,
Grateful Med, the Worldwide Web. A medical library, MDTV and satellite
hookup are also available for student use in the LRC.
Mountaineer
Doctor Television (MDTV) is a state-of-the-art interactive television
system designed to provide on-site consultations between rural
physicians/providers and patients. This allows patients an opportunity
to have a specialty consultation without leaving their community.
Other benefits of MDTV are emergency assistance, CME programs,
and student/community educational programs.

Sessions (IDS) are held on Friday at 12:30, in the LRC.
