STATEMENT OF POLICY:

All WVRHEP students are required to attend and particpate in all of the WVRHEP activites available to them in the consortium. These activites include but are not limited to interdisciplinary sessions, research, and community service projects. Research may be substituted for any community service project. Exceptions to this policy will follow the guidelines set forth by the policies of the WVRHEP.

The guidelines state that exceptions should be made, under certain conditions, by the student's field profesor/preceptor and/or the site coordinator. Examples of such conditions include but are not limited to: illness, family emergency, and inclement weather. Students be asked to refrain from driving during bad weather.

The guidelines of WVRHEP also state that if public schools are closed due to inclement weather, students should not travel. Site coordinators need to be notified prior to any interdisciplinary sesion, research or community service project if a student will be unable to attend.
