Office of Rural Health Report

April reported that the Legislative Oversight Committee on Education and the Arts (LOCEA) “hearing” has been postponed.  The PERD report will be available in January/February.  April also reported that the Legislative Report Card will have a different look this year and the ORH has been working on the material for that report.

April also reminded everyone that Brenda Humphreys from WVSOM has requested that the CV’s of all docs (MD and DO) who act as preceptors for any RHEP students.  These docs will be appointed as field faculty due in the spring 2004.

LegislativeDay activities will be held in Charleston on February 16, 2004 and a Franklin Covey training will be offered the following day on the 17th.    Dean Adelman has been contacted to teach the training and Elizabeth passed around a sign-up sheet.  This will give April an idea on who is interested and how many people to expect.
