I. Approval of September 11, 2006 minutes – Minutes were approved as presented (Ferrari/Bolch).

II. Unfinished Business

a. SERFE Questionnaire for Medical/Dental – Jodie Jackson

b. Level III Policy Concerns: Response to Site Coordinator Concerns – committee went over concerns point by point (see document) – suggestion to review a draft of the policy before voting on the final recommendations

c. Ask Baker/Brody/Jackson to review and develop a DRAFT policy. Email conversations and on agenda for March meeting.

d. Strategic Plan – Volunteers for sub-committee to look at Strategic Plan and goal areas 1 and 2. Go over goal number 2 – look at this very seriously. Volunteers were Carla See, Ralph Utzman, Nanette VanDyke, Stephanie Schuler, Dick Meckstroth, April (staff).

e. Introduction to the mouth and intra-oral screening – DVD developed and this will be used at sites where CARDIAC Kinder is being implemented. Purpose is to introduce oral screening to the other students. In addition to CARDIAC Kinder counties, DVD will be distributed to all sites and encouraged to use in IDS sessions. If you would like a copy of the DVD for schools, email Dr. Meckstroth at rmeckstroth@hsc.wvu.edu

f. Requests of Tracker rotation requests – Site Coordinators agreed at their last meeting that within 30 days, they would respond to Tracker rotation requests – at least with status of request (i.e., sent to doctor for approval).

g. Plan to recruit new preceptors given changes in student volume – Schools approve their own preceptors and rely on sc’s for input. WVSOM is in the process of developing sites and this is a strong school based activity with input from sites. Allopathic schools need appointments from a school in order to receive rotations. Accreditation has required this and this is something that has to happen.
