Heady, Amy Reasinger, Malinda Turner, Chuck Conner, Jacquelyn Copenhaver, Alicia Tyler, Jane martin, Norm Ferrari, Bill McCutcheon, Kathleen Bors, Bill Shires, Kelly Blake, Anna Reno, Dennis McCutcheon, Patti Crawford IDS Bill reported student feedback from WVSOM is that sites are not consistent in terms of frequency. Norm conveyed that in early days we had a verbal understanding that IDS would be at a minimum with nursing and medicine. Then when WVRHEP come into effect at least 2 disciplines were to hold IDS. He also stated that the schools understood that field faculty would represent the discipline not the students. Norm also suggested identifying students with dual degrees, MD and Pharmacy, and use them for education of other students. How can we track and use these students to educate and promote IDS in the curriculum? The committee discussed various ideas about training preceptors in IDS via MDTV; local/consortia level Faculty development, on campus C. E. specified for IDS, etc. Faculty Development Day needs more time allotted for discipline specific faculty to meet. Faculty Development Committee needs more active school representation: WVSOM Norm Montalto and Dorian Williams (Check with Jim Helsley, MD regarding Hal Wanger nest year. Check with Imogene Foster regarding a lecture by Judy Kanzari in spring 1999. DO Meeting to BE held in November. There is a need to update the student scheduler’s list. Contact Mike to development a TRACKER list serves for schedulers.
