March 19, 2001 Days Inn, 12:30 pm
; The meeting was called to order to 12:45 pm. First agenda item was a request for special projects funding from Rivers & Bridges to assist in sending the Site Coordinator and community member, Dennis McCutcheon to the Annual Community-Campus Partnerships for Health conference in May. The request was for lodging and Rivers & Bridges will be paying the remaining travel related expenses. Chuck Conner moved to accept the request with the second from Jim Welshonce. Motion carried. The second agenda item was the review of the final report from Doak, Cuppett & Poling of the program review conducted earlier this year. The committee reviewed the discussion that took place in the Finance Working Subcommittee. It has been stated that the majority of the recommendations made by DCP will be addressed by either the new auditing recommendations or by the funding distribution formularies that will be developed. Members of the committee asked if this was the only document produced by DCP from the program review. Margaret stated that there is a document that specifically addresses observations and recommendations at each consortium. David Hughes made a motion to request that this document be distributed to the Finance Committee members for review. Jim Welshonce seconded the motion. All members were in favor. This material will be distributed to the members via e-mail attachment as the size would incur unnecessary copying costs. They have been cautioned by the chair that this is sensitive material and should be handled with care by the membership. Final agenda item was an update on the meeting with Governor's staff. Hilda was not in attendance of the Finance Committee meeting and Jim Welshonce gave the update. He stated that the Governor's staff was very supportive and receptive to the group. He felt that much was accomplished in the meeting and that a lack of funding increase would be due to the fiscal environment in the State at this time. The meeting ended at 1:15 pm. The next meeting will be held before the May panel meeting. mn
