Discussion of IDS Session Evaluations –
Like road show idea – actually going to them and assisting with facilitation. The committee decided that they would like to have a smaller meeting to discuss IDS sessions and then have a partner meeting in May. The committee decided on April 11 at the Braxton LRC as the smaller meeting to discuss IDS ideas and session evaluations. The agenda will be developed prior to the April 11 meeting.
April briefly discussed a visit to NC Chapel Hill and a program that they have there for students of all disciplines called “Distinction in Service.” This is a program that recognizes students for community service by honoring them in a special way during graduation ceremonies and the service distinction is actually listed in the students’ transcript. April asked the committee for thoughts on the program and how we might be able to do something similar in our program. The committee encouraged April to pursue this with the school and curriculum committees.
Next meeting Dates –
April will send faculty development contact information and OSCD information to faculty development committee.
