September 6-7, 2001 confirmed date of next conference
Conference Location: Embassy Suites, Charleston
Evaluation responses have been the following from conferences:
2001- 35% Attendance 90
2000-32%
1999-36%
Physician attendance is staying the same at an incredibly low number.
Jill said that she thought we should send a report to the advisory panel
regarding attendance of the conference. Who is supporting RHEP and
actively participating in the conference. Helen said the school might
be able to encourage preceptors to attend. Hilda suggested that we
re-visit linking this with other events.
There are three large conferences in the state (Hal-Wanger, AAFP, and
one at Marshall) that physicians attend that we could look at tagging onto
or do a session at the conference. Dan said an interdisciplinary
team could go to consortia and do faculty development at the sites to improve
attendance and possibly get at those who haven't been attending our conference.
Dan would like to see a list of appropriate meetings and possibly what
percentage of RHEP Field Faculty attend these conferences. At a minimum,
we could present or at least exhibit and network with people attending
these conferences. List of state meetings that occur in the state and compare
attendance lists. Dan will take care of dental meetings and Jill
and Imogene will take care of Nursing. April will get the Hal-Wanger
list.
Call Evan Jenkins and get officer list and ask about state conferences.
Mike Lewis should have these lists as well
Dan to email dental
Imogene - nursing
Helen - Osteopathy
Check on local activities
Sara Jane said she spoke with some of the people in the GEC and received
some ideas about re-scheduling their piece of the conference. Dan
said he thought it would still be appropriate at the next faculty development
conference. The committee agreed to add the GEC program to the end
of the 2002 conference, as originally planned in 2001.
Why are our faculty not coming to the conference? Asking this
question on the faculty survey.
At next site coordinator meeting ask about their feeling of having
a group of individuals assist with training on topics for local faculty
development.
Helen suggested the committee send a memo from committee asking for
reports regarding local faculty development in 2000-2001 to OSCD's and
site coordinators. April will take care of sending this out.
Send letter to those that indicated that they would like to serve on
the committee.
Dan will email OSCD's regarding possibility of having road show for
local faculty development.
Committee looked over the overall 2001 field faculty evaluation and
session evaluations. All sessions had good evaluations. Committee
members were given the budget for the conference as an FYI.
The committee went over the field faculty survey for the conference
and suggested changes.
Rosie and Imogene to look at the next draft of the survey and provide
this feedback to Helen.
Due date for the survey will be two weeks ahead of date the survey
is mailed out.
Imogene will proofread cover letter.
Conference call of the committee to review results: Thursday, December
