De-Briefing Notes, Saturday, September 15, 2001

The committee discussed the date for next year's conference and decided it should be held on the 2nd weekend of September each year. The 2002 date would be September 14 & 15 at Embassy Suites (Sandy will check w/ Embassy on availability for this date and pricing information)
UPDATE: September 14-15, 2002 not available at Embassy. After assessing email vote of the committee, the preferred date between September 6-7 or September 20-21 is September 6-7, 2002. More information will be provided at the October FDC meeting.

Faculty Development Conference 2002 De-Briefing Comments

An increase in the annual Faculty Development Conference Budget is needed in order to make the conference a little better in the areas of food, facilities, etc. April will talk with Hilda about this.
Pick healthier food choices for future conferences (i.e., water, bagels)
Have more protein sources for breakfast (i.e., eggs, bacon)
Have setup of breaks scheduled 15 minutes before the session ends.
Write down the number of people in attendance at each session and put this on the outside of the evaluation envelope for comparison with actual evals filled out.
Schedule an orientation with those assisting with the conference before the start of the conference to go over questions etc.
Instead of announcing about collecting copies of the handouts during the conference, make the person responsible for collecting evaluations for the session also responsible to collect handouts of the session, place everything in the envelope and mark the session etc.

Evaluate food costs
Have a moderator to introduce each session and keep it on track
