These individual agendas are to be returned to Sandy by Wednesday, September 3rd. Each participant will receive his or her itinerary at registration. Mike said that updates will be on the web site www.wvrhep.org Rosie suggested using stars on nametags for new field faculty and ribbons indicating the Faculty Development Committee. A discussion on adding fields to the registration form was held and noted. See form for the additions. As far as activities are concerned, the pool will open from 1:00-4:00 (this may require paying a lifeguard), racquetball courts are available and if enough people are interested in going golfing, a block tee times can possibly be arranged. Costs incurred for golfing is the responsibility of each individual. Rosie brought up MDTV as a directive from last year. The committee needs to think about it and choose a date, possible sometime in early November. Topics could include very basic diabetes or each consortium could take on specific items. The Faculty Development committee would take an active roll in this. They could even be presenters. There are enough on the committee to do so; maybe ask Woody Moss to present on ethics. The committee should meet at least twice with ideas on cases, justify how good the cases arefor all disciplines and commit to a case. The committee should line up the consortia, give schedule, script and responsibilities to each consortium. Invite community preceptors and have a statewide session for students and preceptors. Sandy will check with MDTV regarding time slots in early November from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and will report back to the committee in June. A question came up regarding field faculty sharing a student; grades from one field faculty is totally different from the grades of the other field faculty. Helen feels that this matter should be settled on the school level or should be brought before the School Committee. This is not a concern of the Faculty Development Committee. Rosie announced that the hospitality suites are not needed. A discussion regarding meals at the Faculty Development Day followed. The next meeting will be Monday, June 14th , 8:00 am at Days Inn in Flatwoods. The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 pm. Rosie, I did not put together an agenda. I will make changes on the brochure in bold lettering. If something is incorrect or you wish to add, put a number where to add and put suggestions on plain sheet of paper with corresponding number. I have a list of people but don’t exactly know what they are to do. The list is as follows: Don Fidler-WVRHEP, Kathleen Bors-Charleston, Dorian Williams-WVU, Bob Foster-WVSOM, Imogene Foster-WVU Nursing and No Name-Marshall University. I am also confused at to what Dr. Ron Stollings is to do. All speakers must be confirmed before posting their name on the brochure. I am not sure when on Saturday there will be an open lab in the library (hands on) and who will serve as support staff. I am still waiting on the self-assessment form from Mike and whatever Mark and Alex are to send me for the brochure. If we pay a lifeguard for pool time on Saturday afternoon papers (the ones Margaret sent you) will have to be completed and returned to Margaret. If we pay lifeguard directly he will fill out the forms and invoice the office on some type of letterhead or if we pay the school, they will have to fill out the papers and return them to Margaret. This is the same for the pianist and the dance band. Papers will be filled out ahead of time and the invoice should be sent after the function. I hope things are not too confusing. I would like to go over the brochure, registration form at the meeting. This way I will not be confused as to who is doing what at the given time. Hope this finds all well and ready to meet on the 14th. When I asked why you were going to stay in Clarksburg, I thought you were by yourself and was going to off you a room and a ride to Flatwoods. Hope you didn’t think I was out of line. Please send me any correction as soon as possible in order to get them right for the meeting. See you soon!
