The meeting was held at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon,
West Virginia.

PRESENT:  Natalie Ames (WVU Interdisciplinary Curriculum
          Coordinator), Anne Brown (RHI Site Coordinator), Chuck
          Conner (Spencer Site Coordinator), Jan Fox (MU School
          of Medicine), Jean Gross (WVU School of Dentistry),
          Dianne Hughes (Camden on Gauley Site Coordinator),
          Judith Kandzari (WVU School of Nursing), Heather
          McCutcheon (RHI Site Coordinator), James Mears (WVU
          School of Medicine -Charleston Division), John Mooney
          (WV School of Osteopathic Medicine), Sharon Pressman
          (RHI Site Coordinator), Louise Reese (RHI Site
          Coordinator), Barbara Rice (Cameron Site Coordinator),
          Clarke Ridgway (WVU School of Pharmacy), Linda Savory
          (MU School of Medicine), and April Vestal (Rainelle
          Site Coordinator).  Also present were:  Traci Prince
          (Student - WVU School of Nursing), and Glen Davis
          (Student - WVU School of Medicine), 

ABSENT:   Helen Baker (WV School of Osteopathic Medicine),
          William Carlton (Project Director), Anne  Cutlip (WVU
          School of Medicine), David Elliott (WVU School of
          Pharmacy), Robert Foster (WV School of Osteopathic
          Medicine), Arnold Hassen (WV School of Osteopathic
          Medicine), Annie McIntosh (Joint Governing Committee),
          Richard Meckstroth (WVU School of Dentistry), Diana
          Stotts (MU School of Nursing), Lynne Welch (MU School
          of Nursing), and Tom Whittier (Joint Governing
          Committee).  Also in attendance:  WVU nursing student,
          WV School of Osteopathic Medicine student, WVU School
          of Medicine student, and WVU School of Social Work
          student).

          Correction to October 18, 1994 Minutes:  add Jean Gross
(WVU School of Dentistry) as present.

     Needs:
     -    Market is competitive
     -    Change in board passage
     -    Variability in student motivation

     -    How to evaluate critical thinking
     -    Student activity log

     Outcome:
     -    Dean's letter
     -    Rural health certificate
     -    Managed care readiness


II.  Standardized Evaluation

     Dr. Savory stated that the Committee needs to address
     specifically what the students need to get out of the
     experience.  


III. Community Experience

     Chuck Conner will distribute at the next meeting a draft of
     the creative community experience.  The community members
     should describe their community experience and send to Chuck
     Conner.

     Heather McCutcheon distributed a handout describing how to
     better integrate the students into the community. 


IV.  Miscellaneous

     Dr. Savory will take to the Joint Governing Committee the
     issue of who should orient the field professors.


V.   Future Meetings

     The site coordinators compiled a schedule for the upcoming
     1995 Curriculum Committee meetings.  All meetings will be
     scheduled from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm.
