This award is given in recognition for excellence in legislative leadership to a Legislator in the WV Senate or House who demonstrates exemplary leadership in support of rural health issues and policy regarding community based health professions training.
This award
further recognizes the WV Legislature as a fully active and contributing
partner in the WVRHEP/AHEC Partnership. The award is named in honor of Senate President and Lt. Governor, Earl
Ray Tomblin, for his role and exemplary leadership in the formation of the
WVRHEP/AHEC Partnership and passage of the Rural Health Initiative Act in 1991
that created and supports the on-going partnership and program.
Criteria to be considered for nomination include:
Those wishing to submit a nomination should include two (2) letters of support that substantiate the nomination. These letters of support should include a description of the nominee’s activities as outlined above. Nominations of both current and former members of the Legislature who meet one or more criteria are welcomed.
